Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced UI Design Engineer to join our team and shape the future of our mobile and web applications. You will play a crucial role in understanding user needs, designing intuitive and engaging experiences, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring those experiences to life. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in audio or gaming domains. This role requires a strong understanding of UX/UI principles, a user-centric approach, and the ability to rapidly prototype and iterate on designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Iconography: Design and produce a comprehensive set of pixel-perfect icons for various digital platforms, ensuring consistency in style, size, and visual weight.
- Visual Quality: Deliver high-quality graphic assets and visual output that align with brand guidelines and elevate the overall aesthetic of our products.
- Color Expertise: Demonstrate an excellent understanding of color theory, application, and accessibility to create visually appealing and effective designs.
- Design System Contribution: Create, maintain, and evolve reusable UI components for our design system, including all necessary states, variations, and responsive behaviors.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product designers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure design consistency and successful implementation of design system components.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct visual QA to ensure designs are implemented accurately and maintain pixel perfection across different environments.
- Support Company objectives by completing additional tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (typically 3+ years) as a UI Designer, Graphic Designer, or similar role, with a strong and diverse portfolio showcasing iconography, graphic design, and design system work.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Figma (Primary), Sketch, Adobe XD, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Expertise in creating pixel-perfect digital assets, particularly icons and UI elements, with a deep understanding of vector graphics.
- Exceptional understanding of color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy, with an ability to apply these principles effectively across various platforms.
- Demonstrable experience in building and contributing to comprehensive design systems, including component creation, documentation, and version control.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in a contract or freelance capacity is a significant plus.
