Position Overview:
Bose Professional is looking for a Windchill Configuration Analyst to guide and support our Product Development teams in the creation, release to manufacturing, and change management of product data. The Analyst will partner with Product Development to create new data, analyze requested product design changes for accuracy and completeness, and extend this data into our ERP where appropriate. This team member will also own and manage the CN process of change documentation, approval, documentation incorporation, manufacturing implementation, auditing, and completion. Finally, the Configuration Analyst will prepare and present reports (including status of open CN’s and CN process cycle time and quality) and identify continuous improvement opportunities to the CN process to reduce cycle time and improve quality.


Key Responsibilities:
  • New Data Creation
    • Guide and support Product Development Teams on CM activities
    • Attend Team Material meetings and report on status of all BOMs, parts, and documents
    • Coordinate initial release of new part/BOM/doc objects and review for completeness
    • Facilitate part/BOM/doc lifecycle progression and release by using reports to show status of objects preventing promotion in our Windchill+ environment
  • New Data Extension
    • Work with Engineer to release BOMs / Parts to manufacturing for planning, prototyping, production, and sales.
    • Manage data extension priorities per program build schedules
    • Notify customer upon completion of data extension
  • Initiate Part/BOM Extension requests through Proto. 
  • Initiate material/  BOM creation within NetSuite by coordinating data for our NetSuite ops team.
  • Intervene with businesses to resolve data issues
  • Change Review, Impact Analysis, and Approvals
    • Review submitted Deviations and CN’s for completeness. 
    • Initiate CN Impact Analysis. 
    • Manage CN approvals. 
    • Manage creation of new Part/BOM/Documents  
    • Systematically initiate ECM’s for Deviations and CN’s through Windchill+
    • Audit BOMs extended to the plant via CN to ensure accuracy
  • Other Functions
    • Provide Windchill+ task training and SAP reporting capabilities
    • Respond to Customers concerns
    • Publish data quality and process metrics
    • Work with Data Process Managers to specify tool requirements
    • Work with Data Process Managers on continuous process improvements
    • Work on collaborative projects within Bose as PCM representative

Qualifications:
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills are required
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate PDM business requirements of varying complexity, requiring an understanding of the PDM system
  • Ability to act independently, under general direction, to define, lead, implement, and document PDM system process changes in support of business process solutions
  • Strong understanding of configuration management principles, including data and document integrity, accessibility and audit policies
  • Strong understanding of “material management” principles
  • Strong knowledge a PDM system (like Windchill+), with specific knowledge of life cycle management

Additional Requirements:

Work leadership may be provided by assigning work, resolving problems and training.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or Business Administration preferred, or related discipline or equivalent experience, CMII Professional Certification and a minimum of 8 years related work experience.
