Position Overview:
As a Senior Backend Engineer, your role entails proficiency in embedded firmware development for professional audio applications. 

From a well-defined set of requirements and within a well-defined software architecture, you shall independently produce high/low level SW design (HLD/LLD), accurately estimate schedules and implement high quality code in an Agile software development environment. 

In addition to being an individual contributor, you will be providing technical leadership to small teams. 


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead board bring-up activities for new hardware prototypes, including porting bootloaders (e.g., U-Boot) and configuring the Linux kernel. 
  • Develop, customize, and maintain the Linux Board Support Package (BSP) for our embedded products. 
  • Design, develop, and debug Linux kernel device drivers for a wide range of peripherals, including I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, Ethernet, and others. 
  • Work closely with hardware engineers to review schematics, define system architecture, and debug complex hardware/software integration issues. 
  • Optimize system performance, including boot time, memory usage, and overall system responsiveness. 
  • Maintain the build system (e.g., Yocto Project/Buildroot) for creating our custom Linux distributions. 
  • Develop and execute software test plans to ensure system stability and reliability. 
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers on the team. 
  • Create and maintain clear, detailed technical documentation for software designs and drivers. 
  • Support Company objectives by completing additional tasks as needed


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 
  • A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in embedded Linux software development. 
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems. 
  • Deep understanding of the Linux kernel architecture, device driver model, and internal workings. 
  • Proven hands-on experience with board bring-up of ARM-based SoCs. 
  • Extensive experience in developing and debugging Linux kernel device drivers for peripherals like I2C, UART, SPI, and GPIO. 
  • Solid experience with Linux BSP development and customization. 
  • Proficiency with debugging tools such as JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and effective communication and collaboration skills across time zones.
