Position Overview:  

​​Bose Professional is seeking an experienced and proactive QA Lead to join our dynamic team. The Lead QA will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. You will be responsible for guiding the testing strategy, collaborating closely with product and development teams, managing testing resources, and driving the overall quality process from requirements alignment through to release assessment. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on testing involvement, technical understanding, and strong leadership & communication skills.​ 
 

 
Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team comprising both manual and automation QA engineers, fostering professional growth and ensuring efficient execution of testing activities. 
  • Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive test plans, outlining the scope, strategy, types of testing (functional, regression, performance, etc.) 
  • Design, create, and maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases for new feature verification. 
  • Perform hands-on manual testing and oversee the automation testing activities executed by the QA team members. 
  • Coordinate and manage the procurement and allocation of necessary resources for testing, including samples and prototype hardware. 
  • Analyze product features and identify high-priority candidates for test automation efforts. 
  • Review the implementation and coverage of automated tests to ensure they meet quality standards and effectively verify requirements. 
  • Analyze both manual and automated test results, synthesize findings, and report on product quality, test coverage, and defect status to the wider team. 
  • Lead defect triage meetings, help assess the severity and priority of identified issues and actively drive their resolution by coordinating with development and product teams. 
  • Provide informed recommendations and quality assessments to stakeholders regarding the product's readiness for key milestones (e.g., Alpha, Beta, Release Candidate, Final Release). 
  • Act as a quality advocate within the team, promoting best practices and ensuring quality is considered throughout the development lifecycle. 
  • Support Company objectives by completing additional tasks as needed 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and 8+ years of professional QA experience. 
  • Proven experience in team leadership or direct management of QA engineers (both manual and automation preferred). 
  • Demonstrable experience in leading QA efforts by collaborating with a multi-disciplined engineering team, defining test strategies, and planning test cycles. 
  • Experience creating/maintaining manual and/or automated test cases. 
  • Experience with end-to-end testing of integrated systems combining Hardware, Software, Firmware, APIs communicating over wired/wireless ethernet networks, USB and Bluetooth. 
  • Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, Web application testing experience. 
  • Good working knowledge of networking; TCP/IP, Subnets, VLANs, configuring routers, switches. 


Good to Have: 

  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium). 
  • Experience with testing hardware, firmware, or embedded systems. 
  • Knowledge of performance and/or security testing principles and tools. 
  • Experience reviewing automated test code or contributing to automation frameworks.
