Position Overview:
Bose Professional is seeking an exceptionally skilled Audio Software Architect to join our engineering team as we continue to expand our global organization. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape our next-generation technologies and products. The Audio Software Architect will work closely with our various software engineering teams to design, prototype, test, and optimize world-class audio products for the installed sound and live sound markets. This role is essentially the “glue” between all our software and electronics teams, with architectural and design oversight responsibilities to ensure we are building a robust, scalable, extensible next-gen platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the end-to-end software architecture for next-generation products.
  • Design and implement key software components spanning embedded & cloud FE/BE.
  • Mentor, coach, and guide our software engineering teams on best practices across design, analysis, optimization, debugging and problem solving. 
  • Contribute to technical proposals outlining potential solutions and approaches that are aligned with our strategic product vision and business goals. Effectively communicate proposals and designs to both engineering & product management colleagues and senior executives.
  • As a hands-on engineering practitioner, create rapid prototypes and mock-ups leveraging our cross-functional engineering teams. Develop production code for several key components.
  • Stay close to the technical details, diving deep with each engineering team and all parts of the HW/SW system to unblock teams and identify root causes behind tough problems.
  • Be a champion for innovation and creativity, while staying focused on practical solutions that meet cost, schedule, and quality targets.
 
Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar
  • 20 years of experience designing, building, and delivering complex SW systems in C/C++, JS, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of real-time audio systems and digital signal processing algorithms
  • Extensive experience designing and building graphical user interfaces, collaborating with UX designers and product managers/owners
